Great content combined with an email newsletter is a match made in heaven. There’s an abundance of possibilities for making money via your subscriber list if you know the right way to create content. Following is a process that anyone can follow to create desirable content that leaves readers hungry for more.

First, once you have built up a solid subscriber list, you should make it your number one priority to get to know your readers. Sure some marketers suggest squeezing every dollar out of your readers that you can- but you don’t need to do this. Instead, make it a challenge to yourself to squeeze as much information out of them as possible.

You want to know your readers’ past experiences, their successes, failures, preconceived thoughts- anything that could give you insight onto just who is actually reading your newsletter. What’s the best way to get information? Well, you could sit around and wait for people to volunteer. But that won’t get you far. Instead, ask them for this information and give them something useful in return.

Second, take the information you receive and go through it carefully. Look closely at patterns you notice your readers having. If your reader base is mostly beginners, you need to know this. Don’t assume that you know who is reading your emails. As you’re going through this information, figure out a plan of how your current knowledge matches with what your readers already know.

Third, focus all your efforts on different avenues for creating content. Once you know who your readers are, you’ll also find out the best ways to meet their needs. Some email newsletters have readers who want content that holds their hands every step of the way. On the flip side, you’ll see that you might have readers who want you to skip over all the simple stuff and move onto the more weighty matters.

Beginners and veterans require you to utilize different ways of creating content. Go in the wrong direction and you’ll be getting lots of readers pressing the unsubscribe link.

Finally, create all your content with your readers in mind. If they see you’re solving their problems, they’ll be eating out of the palm of your hand. Why is this? Many people have a gaping void somewhere in their knowledge. Once they find someone who can fill that void, they will be beyond thankful. And the Law of Reciprocity states that the more you give, the more you’re bound to receive. An email newsletter that gives a wealth of information and no hype has a vast money making potential.

After you have this process in order, you’ll be able to create results over the entire span of your email newsletter. Over time, you can use these four steps to understand exactly where your readers are at and what they need. Focus on your readers’ needs- and you’ll get them begging for more.
